Unitree Robotics Enters South Korea with "Ordination" at Seoul's Largest Buddhist Temple

A Unitree G1 humanoid robot named Gabi joined a Buddhist ordination-style ceremony at Cheonggye Temple in Seoul.

The robot bowed, responded to chants, and performed ritual gestures alongside Jogye monks, marking a first-of-its-kind appearance.

The event served as a public debut for Unitree in South Korea and drew attention to AI’s role in cultural and religious settings.
