Google prepares credit system for Gemini and new image tools

Google may be testing a credit-based billing system for the Gemini app, replacing fixed usage quotas with monthly credits that users can top up.

Strings in the latest app build also point to a new web UI images section, suggesting expanded image generation or editing tools.

The shift would bring Gemini in line with Google’s other AI products such as Flow and AI Studio, which already use credits.

A unified credit model could make pricing more flexible for power users and simplify premium AI feature billing.

Google may reveal more at Google I/O, where the new billing and image features could be announced.
