Few Smartphone Owners Care About Foldables or AI, Survey Suggests

A CNET-commissioned YouGov survey of 2,407 U.S. smartphone owners found weak interest in premium upgrades like foldables and AI.

Only 13% said they would upgrade for a foldable or flip phone, and 12% for AI integrations.

Price, battery life, and storage were still the top reasons people buy a new phone.

The findings raise questions about Apple’s plan to highlight foldable designs and Apple Intelligence in future iPhones.
