Amazon EC2 instances are launched with up to 22.8 TB of NVMe-based local instance storage, aWS announced new EC2 C8id, M8id, and R8id instances with local NVMe storage.

C8id/M8id/R8id instances offer up to 3 times more vCPUs, memory, and local storage than previous sixth-generation instances comparison to sixth-generation instances provided by AWS.

Deliver up to 43% higher compute performance and 3.3 times more memory bandwidth than sixth-generation instances performance comparison provided by AWS versus sixth-generation instances.

Deliver up to 46% higher I/O performance for database workloads and up to 30% faster query results for I/O intensive analytics, i/O and analytics performance claims versus sixth-generation instances.

C8id instances are recommended for compute-intensive workloads that need high-speed, low-latency local storage target workload guidance in the announcement.
