Google announces YouTube upgrades at Google I/O

Google unveiled AI-driven YouTube updates at I/O, led by Gemini Omni-powered Shorts Remix.

The update adds AI-assisted video creation with labels and metadata, while expanding likeness detection to all eligible creators.

Google also introduced Ask YouTube, a conversational search feature that can surface YouTube videos in Google Search results.

The broader U.S. rollout for the new Search experience is planned for this summer.
