Samsung is locking in five-year chip deals as AI demand shows no signs of slowing

Samsung has signed long-term chip supply deals with the five largest global data center operators, with more contracts nearing completion.

The agreements run at least five years and are set to cover most of Samsung’s future capacity, reflecting buyers’ push to lock in supply early.

AI-driven demand is still outstripping production, especially for HBM, and Samsung expects memory shortages to worsen in 2027 and 2028.

Strong memory prices helped drive a sharp quarterly profit jump, while Samsung’s mobile division posted a loss; the company also plans to expand production, including its Texas fab.
