Google Maps wants to suggest review contributions using your photo library and Gemini

Google Maps is adding Gemini-powered tools to make it easier to post reviews and photos.

The app may request full media access so it can suggest images from recently visited places in a user’s library.

Gemini can generate editable captions for selected photos, reducing the effort needed to contribute.

Google is also making contributor points and Local Guide status more prominent in Maps.
