SIE Acquires Cinemersive Labs to Boost PlayStation Visuals with Machine Learning

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced it will acquire UK-based Cinemersive Labs to strengthen PlayStation visuals.

SIE plans to apply machine learning to improve rendering and visual effects in PS games.

Cinemersive Labs, founded in 2022 in Edinburgh, provides generative-AI 6DoF 3D imaging and a Meta Quest app.

Deal terms, including the acquisition price, were not disclosed.

After closing, Cinemersive's team will join SIE's Visual Computing Group.
