Google makes it easy to deepfake yourself

YouTube Shorts is rolling out an AI feature for creators 18+ with an existing channel.

It creates a digital avatar that can be used in existing Shorts or new ones.

YouTube says the avatar will look and sound like the creator, and creators record a live selfie to make it.

Clips can be generated from prompts, can run up to eight seconds, and will be labeled as AI-generated with watermarks and markers.

Avatars are limited to the creator's own original videos; creators can delete them anytime, and unused avatars are removed after three years.
