The Google TV brand that tried to revive Chromecast is on ice

Thomson’s Google TV operations in Europe have effectively paused after its licensed operator, StreamView GMBH, filed for bankruptcy and began winding down.

The company says it is looking for a new partner to restore continuity for the brand in the region.

The halt affects sales and support for Thomson’s Google TV devices across Europe.

It also removes one of the notable Chromecast-style alternatives available to European consumers.
