Authentication infrastructure to verify AI identity: Mizuho FG and NEC launch joint proof-of-concept, anticipating an era in which AI agents use banks

Mizuho FG and NEC will begin a joint proof-of-concept in June for “KYA,” a new authentication framework for AI agents.

The trial will use DID and VC to verify an AI agent’s identity and permissions, including proxy access to Mizuho’s AI development platform.

The companies will test authentication, consent, delegation, and audit functions as part of the setup.

They aim to move toward a real-world service and potentially an industry-wide authentication standard for AI agents in finance.
