macOS 26.5’s new setting might solve Mac mini power button complaints

Apple’s macOS Tahoe 26.5 adds a new Energy setting for certain Mac desktops.

Supported models can automatically turn on when plugged in and let users power off or restart via assistive accessories.

The feature is available on select Macs such as the M4 Mac mini, M4 iMac, and 2025 Mac Studio.

It may make everyday power controls easier and help ease complaints about hard-to-reach power buttons.
