CATL's new LFP battery can charge from 10 to 98% in less than 7 minutes

CATL unveiled its Shenxing LFP battery, which can charge from 10% to 98% in 6 minutes 27 seconds.

It can reach 10% to 80% in just 3 minutes 44 seconds and still charges quickly at -22 F.

CATL says the battery retains more than 90% performance after 1,000 fast-charge cycles.

The breakthrough could bring EV charging closer to gasoline refueling speeds and improve cold-weather usability.
