OpenAI ends its exclusive deal with Microsoft, enabling direct access to OpenAI models from Amazon Bedrock

OpenAI and Microsoft revised their partnership to end Microsoft’s exclusive treatment of OpenAI models and products.

Microsoft keeps IP and model licenses through 2032 and remains OpenAI’s primary cloud partner.

OpenAI can now distribute products through other clouds, opening the door to wider cloud availability.

The change clears the way for OpenAI models to appear directly on Amazon Bedrock and eases concerns about AWS plans.
