Apple to add a "12-month contract monthly subscription plan" to auto-renewing App Store subscriptions

Apple is adding a new App Store subscription option that bills monthly but requires a 12-month commitment.

The new plan sits between existing monthly and annual subscriptions, giving users a middle-ground pricing model.

Subscribers can cancel before the committed payments are complete, and the option will roll out with 26.5 OS releases in most regions.

The feature will be available across iOS 26.5, iPadOS 26.5, macOS Tahoe 26.5, and visionOS 26.5, including Japan.
