A VPN built for criminals just got shut down by Europol and Eurojust

Europol and Eurojust coordinated a multi-country takedown of First VPN, a service marketed to cybercriminals on underground forums.

Authorities arrested the service administrator, searched a residence in Ukraine, and seized related infrastructure.

In total, 33 servers plus DNS and Tor assets were dismantled in an investigation that began in 2021.

The operation cut off an anonymity tool allegedly used to help hide ransomware, fraud, and data theft activity.
