Google releases Gemma 4, an open AI model family available for commercial use

Google announced Gemma 4, the latest open generative AI model family available under the Apache 2.0 license.

Gemma 4 is offered in four sizes: E2B, E4B, 26B MoE, and 31B Dense, targeting devices from mobile to developer PCs.

The models support native video/image processing, OCR, audio input, long contexts, and training in over 140 languages.

Google reported that Gemma 4 outperforms models 20× its size on industry-standard benchmarks.
