Cline Releases Cline SDK: An Open-Source Agent Runtime Now Powering Its CLI and Kanban, With IDE Extensions Being Migrated

Cline open-sourced @cline/sdk, a modular TypeScript agent runtime that now powers its CLI and IDE experiences.

The runtime splits the agent core from product surfaces, with plugin support and separately installable components for easier reuse and maintenance.

Cline says it is rebuilding its CLI, VS Code, JetBrains, and Kanban products on top of the new architecture.

The company also claims the new CLI outperforms previous builds in internal benchmarks, improving token efficiency and session reliability.
