Hackers hit the biggest game of the year with malware that let them take over users' PCs

Malicious Steam Workshop maps for Meccha Chameleon were used to drop malware on players’ PCs.

The payload installed a remote access trojan, creating a risk of full device takeover.

The attack also briefly compromised the game’s Discord server before developers patched the issue and regained control.
