Studio Display 2022 vs. Studio Display 2026 Buyer's Guide

Apple updated the Studio Display in 2026 while keeping the $1,599 price, 27-inch 5K panel, and 60Hz 600-nit LCD.

The 2026 model upgrades internal hardware: A19 chip, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, two Thunderbolt 5 ports, Desk View support, and deeper bass.

For existing 2022 owners the panel and daily experience are unchanged, so upgrading is unnecessary unless you need Thunderbolt 5 or Desk View.

For new buyers the 2026 model is a better-spec value at the same price, but discounted 2022 stock remains a reasonable choice if Thunderbolt 5 and Desk View are not required.
