Power bank maker Casely reissues recall following mid-flight explosion and fatal incident

Casely has expanded its recall of 5,000 mAh Power Pod battery packs.

The company received 28 additional overheating and fire reports, including a death and a fire injury on an airplane.

Owners of the recalled Model E33A units are urged to stop using them and request free replacements.

The recall highlights serious consumer and aviation safety risks from lithium-ion battery accessories that can catch fire.
