Meta is launching a free identity badge for Facebook called Facebook Verified.

Users can verify with a short selfie video, with rollout starting in select regions.

The badge will appear on profiles and in areas like Marketplace and Dating to help confirm a real person.

The move aims to improve trust as AI-generated content and fake accounts become more common.
