Amazon eero and Leo routers escape the FCC’s foreign router ban

The FCC gave Amazon conditional approval to keep selling its eero and Leo routers in the U.S. through Oct. 31, 2027.

The approval followed support from the Department of War or DHS, after the routers were deemed not to pose a security risk.

Amazon joins Netgear and Adtran in winning clearance as the FCC tightens scrutiny of foreign-made routers.

The decision allows Amazon to keep selling key home networking gear while security rules are being strengthened.
