Orion helium leak poses no threat to Artemis II reentry but will require redesign

NASA says Orion’s helium leak will not affect Artemis II’s return to Earth or crew safety.

During the trip home from the Moon, NASA paused a piloting demo to inspect Orion’s propulsion system and measure the leak.

The crew module can still reenter safely on its own systems, including the main engine and thrusters.

But similar leaks seen on Artemis I and Artemis II suggest future Orion missions may need redesigned service module valves.
