Meta Installing Software on Employee Computers to Track Everything They Do, Feed the Data to AI

Meta is rolling out internal tracking software on U.S. employees’ computers to log mouse movements, keystrokes, and occasional screenshots from work apps and sites.

The company says the data will be used to train AI models and that managers cannot use it for performance reviews or other unrelated purposes.

The move has sparked privacy and labor concerns because employee activity is being turned into AI training data while Meta is also planning major layoffs.
