They found the massive companion star’s wind bends the black hole’s jets, letting them model the effect.

The team estimated the jets’ instantaneous power at about 10,000 times the Sun’s output.

This is the first direct measurement of real-time jet power in a black hole system and helps explain how black holes shape their surroundings.
