MacBook Ultra, Neo, and M6: Is Apple Overcomplicating the Mac?

Apple appears set to refresh its Mac lineup in stages rather than all at once, spacing out chip upgrades, display changes, and design shifts.

Reports point to an M6 entry-level MacBook Pro, an OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro that could be branded MacBook Ultra, and a delayed OLED MacBook Air.

On the desktop side, Mac mini and Mac Studio may overlap with M5 Pro, M5 Max, and M5 Ultra configurations, making the lineup harder to read for buyers.

There is also talk of a $699 MacBook Neo 2 with an A19 Pro chip, signaling a broader shift in Apple’s laptop strategy.
