Cloudflare accelerates post-quantum roadmap

Cloudflare moved up its schedule to make its entire platform post-quantum secure by 2029.

The company said it has already deployed post-quantum key agreement for over half of human traffic and will add post-quantum authentication in 2026.

Cloudflare cited progress in quantum hardware, error correction, and algorithms and referenced research showing RSA-2048 and elliptic curve crypto could be broken sooner.

It said legacy cryptographic systems must be disabled to avoid downgrade attacks during migration.
