Google DeepMind partners with EVE Online for AI model testing

Google DeepMind took a minority stake in EVE Online’s developer to use a local-server version of the game for AI research.

The offline setup will help test long-horizon planning, memory, and continual learning in a complex virtual world.

At the same time, CCP Games bought itself out from Pearl Abyss for $120 million and is rebranding as Fenris Creations.

The studio said the ownership change will not trigger layoffs or restructuring.
