Microsoft Gives Windows Update a New Pause Button - PC Perspective

Microsoft is adding new Windows Update controls for better timing and clarity.

Users will be able to pause updates until a chosen date and skip some updates during Windows setup.

Windows will also allow restart or shutdown without installing pending updates first.

Driver updates will get clearer names, making installs easier to identify.
