New U.S. battery facility to produce 10,000 tons of EV anode materials, reduce foreign dependence

Graphite One has secured a site in Conneaut, Ohio, for a battery materials plant that will make active anode materials.

The facility is expected to be completed in late 2027, with a later expansion to 25,000 tons of graphitization capacity by 2028.

The project will be tied to Graphite One’s Alaska graphite deposit, and sample materials have already been sent to EV and battery makers for testing.

If successful, the plant could help reduce U.S. reliance on imported graphite and strengthen domestic EV battery supply chains.
