Google Health 5.0 is rolling out with its best feature up front and its worst problems buried

Google began a mandatory rollout of Health 5.0 for Fitbit app users on May 19.

The update adds a customizable Quick Access widget with multiple fitness metrics and is required to set up the new Fitbit Air.

It also expands the Gemini-powered Health Coach, but reports say it can produce wrong results and cite questionable sources.

Several older Fitbit features are missing, and chat plus personalized plans now require a Google Health Premium subscription.
