Google I/O 2026: Gemini Spark is a wildly ambitious AI agent

Google unveiled Gemini Spark at I/O 2026, a cloud-based AI agent powered by Gemini 3.5.

The agent is built to work across Google products and more than 30 third-party services, with launches coming soon in Gmail and Chat.

U.S. AI Ultra subscribers will get access next week, as Google expands its push toward a more autonomous assistant.

For purchases, Gemini Spark will use the Agent Payments Protocol and require user approval to help prevent unsafe spending.
