Rivian says AI makes debate over CarPlay ‘completely obsolete’

Rivian software chief Wassym Bensaid said AI is making Apple CarPlay less relevant in its cars.

He argued vehicles are shifting from software-defined to AI-defined, with Rivian’s own assistant and future agentic features taking over app interactions.

Bensaid said internal surveys show customer demand for CarPlay has fallen sharply over time.
