Mastodon is about to launch its take on Bluesky’s starter packs

Mastodon announced Collections, a new list-making tool coming soon.

Users can build and find lists of accounts to follow, with up to 25 accounts per Collection.

On participating servers, creators can add a short description and topic, and mark a Collection sensitive.

Users can opt out of appearing in others’ Collections, get notified if added, and report a Collection.

Collections are based on Bluesky Starter Packs; they won’t launch with a Follow All button and will roll out to mastodon.social next week, before a wider Mastodon 4.6 launch.
