Apple Studio Display XDR Now FDA-Cleared for Diagnostic Radiology Use

Apple's Studio Display XDR received FDA clearance for its medical image calibration feature, allowing U.S. radiologists to use it for diagnostic radiology.

U.S. radiologists can connect the display to a Mac running macOS 14.4 to access DICOM medical imaging presets and a Medical Imaging Calibrator.

The Studio Display XDR is priced at $2,899 with a VESA mount and requires switching to a radiology viewing mode to view medical images.

Apple must obtain medical clearances in other countries before enabling the radiology feature outside the United States.
