Apple's F1 Streaming Ambitions Hit Wall as Sky Renews European Rights

Apple’s bid to expand its Formula 1 streaming rights in Europe has hit a setback as Sky Sports renewed key deals early.

Sky now holds exclusive live F1 rights in the UK and Ireland through 2034, and in Italy through 2032.

That makes it much harder for Apple TV to bring Formula 1 to those major markets soon after its U.S. deal starts in 2026.

The renewals limit Apple’s near-term push to turn its U.S. F1 partnership into a broader global sports streaming footprint.
