OpenAI's Sam Altman to Visit Washington This Week as Advanced AI Model Restrictions Take Effect - IT之家

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is expected to travel to Washington this week to meet White House officials and lawmakers from both parties.

The talks will focus on U.S. AI policy, implementation of the June executive order, and questions about the safety and cyberattack capabilities of OpenAI’s newest models.

The order takes effect on August 1 and would require frontier AI models to be submitted to the government 30 days before release for safety testing.

OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google are also pushing to revise related policies as the U.S. tightens scrutiny of advanced AI systems.
