Sony will require age verification for PlayStation users in the UK and Ireland starting in June 2026.

The rule covers communication and social features such as party chat, voice chat, text messaging, broadcasting, and Discord integration.

Some user-generated content tools will also be restricted unless users complete age checks.

The policy could affect core PlayStation social functions as online safety rules tighten.
