Former Tesla exec and Heron Power CEO Drew Baglino has founded a heat pump startup

Former Tesla energy chief Drew Baglino has launched Sadi Thermal Machines, a California-based heat pump startup.

The company was founded in June 2025 and is reportedly staffed by several Tesla alumni.

Sadi sits alongside Baglino’s earlier startup Heron Power, which focuses on solid-state transformers.

The move brings Tesla-era thermal management expertise into the home energy market, where Tesla has yet to release a heat pump product.
