This AI weather startup is out-forecasting government agencies

WindBorne Systems launched WeatherMesh 6, an AI weather model it says outperforms ECMWF forecasts on several variables.

The model delivers faster hourly updates and higher-resolution predictions across Europe and the U.S.

Its gains come from improved use of data collected by WindBorne’s weather balloon network after a year of tuning and re-architecture.

The release highlights how AI-first forecasting could rival top government systems in speed, resolution, and reliability.
