AI helps from product selection to payment: MUFG teams up with Google to make it happen, building infrastructure on Google Cloud

MUFG said it will work with Google and Google Cloud Japan on AI-driven commerce and payment services built on Google Cloud.

The plan aims to support consumers from product selection through checkout with autonomous AI assistance.

MUFG also plans to adopt several Google products internally and offer Google-related perks to some customers.

Separately, the bank is preparing ChatGPT-linked financial and shopping services for 2025.
