Kumamoto earthquake: shipping companies temporarily suspend pickup and delivery

Due to the Kumamoto earthquake, Japan Post suspended counter services at all post offices in Kumamoto Prefecture and halted some parcel acceptance and delivery operations.

Yamato Transport stopped pickups and deliveries across Kumamoto Prefecture and warned of delays throughout Kyushu.

Sagawa Express also reported delivery suspensions in parts of Kumamoto and delays on routes between Kyushu and the rest of Japan.

The disruption is affecting local logistics and daily life as postal and parcel networks are partly shut down.
