Microsoft will let you pause Windows Updates indefinitely, 35 days at a time

Microsoft is testing Windows Update changes in Insider builds that give users more control over when updates install.

Update pauses can now be extended indefinitely in 35-day increments, helping users avoid unexpected interruptions.

Windows 11 is also getting clearer driver update labels, update-free restart and shut down options, and the ability to skip updates during device setup.

Microsoft is bundling some updates to cut down on reboot frequency and make the overall update experience less disruptive.
