Police used AI facial recognition to wrongly arrest TN woman for crimes in ND

Fargo Police used the FaceSketchID facial recognition system to generate a suspect match in a North Dakota investigation.

A Tennessee woman was arrested based on that match and remained in custody for four months.

She told WDAY she will never return to North Dakota after the ordeal.

Commenters noted FaceSketchID has been used since about 2014 and that the system provides suggested matches requiring detective verification.
