Amazon and USPS reach new shipping deal that keeps most package volume intact

Amazon and the USPS reached a new agreement that preserves most of their long-running shipping partnership.

Under the deal, USPS will continue handling roughly 80% of Amazon's package volume, a 20% reduction from current levels.

The arrangement is subject to approval by the Postal Regulatory Commission and follows months of bidding and negotiations.

USPS reported large recent losses and the deal helps avert a substantial revenue shock tied to Amazon's business.
