Meta to invest 20 trillion won in building a ‘data center complex’ with BlackRock

Meta and BlackRock will build a 1-gigawatt data center campus in El Paso, Texas, in a deal worth about $14 billion.

The project is set to come online in 2028, with Meta as the sole initial tenant.

BlackRock funds will hold 80% of the venture, while Meta will own 20%; both companies are contributing assets and cash.

The move is part of Meta's broader Meta Compute strategy to expand AI infrastructure.
