3D printing community organizes against California law that would restrict sales to state-approved models to prevent printing gun parts

California’s AB 2047 would require state-approved 3D printers and monitoring features aimed at blocking gun-part printing.

The bill would also ban popular open-source firmware such as Marlin and Klipper, alarming much of the maker community.
