US military bases could be powered by Antares’ mini nuclear reactors by 2028

Antares raised $470 million in equity and debt to advance its small modular reactor program.

Its Mark-0 demo reactor has already reached criticality, and the first power-producing unit is targeted for 2027.

The company aims to begin deployments at U.S. military bases in 2028.

The funding could speed up an early market for compact nuclear power as demand grows across defense and other sectors.
