US solar EV gains 4.23 kWh of energy and 42 miles of range from sunlight while simply parked

Independent testing found Aptera’s solar EV generated 4.23 kWh of usable battery energy while parked, enough for an estimated 42 miles of range.

TÜV Rheinland recorded up to 4.75 kWh under optimized positioning, equivalent to roughly 47 miles of driving.

The results support Aptera’s solar-charging claims, though real-world output will vary with weather, season, location and parking orientation.
